Established by the Provost’s Office in 2012, the Campus Sustainability Fund supports projects that contribute to the Campus Sustainability Goals. Under the University’s Charter of Social Responsibility, CityU is committed to the principles of sustainability and continual improvement of its environmental performance.
The Charter identifies the following challenges in meeting the University’s commitments to environmental sustainability:
developments in the University are sustainable and do not have a negative impact on the environment;
promotion of Reduction, Reuse and Recycling and elimination, where possible, of the use of non-degradable materials;
continuous reduction of the carbon footprint of the University
The University has also established an Environmental Policy and set guidelines on implementation strategy in achieving environmental performance improvement.
To support projects that can demonstrate a contribution to promote environmental sustainability.
Projects should seek to transform processes and / or engage the campus community with a view to changing attitudes and behaviours that will result in a long-term impact on campus sustainability outcomes. The outputs of projects might include reports, artistic works, multi-media materials and demonstration structures, as well as other forms as appropriate.
