CALL FOR VIDEO MESSAGES FROM HIGHER ED STUDENTS
TO BE WATCHED BY EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENT MINISTERS AT UNEP & TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION CLIMATE IMPACT FORUM ON 28TH OCTOBER!
Winning video contributors will receive a compensation of $100 (equivalent in their currency)
Requirements for the video message:
- Can be filmed with your phone camera. Tips for filming: Use portrait mode, hold the camera still, avoid background noise by filming in a silent & wind-free space, consider having an interesting/compelling visual background, focus on a soundbite and use words that really describe how you feel – be passionate!
- Share your worries and/or critique of the status quo: e.g. no reference to climate in the courses you took, or sustainability topics are only offered as an optional elective module, etc
- Share your vision of how education should empower students to act – this can also include your experience of effective education approaches you’ve encountered
- Share your requests/demands/ideas for what governments and higher ed leaders should do to integrate climate education into the curriculum
The 5 best videos will be compiled into a 4-5 minute video that will be watched by participating ministers and delegates at the 28 October Times Higher Education (THE) online event ahead of COP26.
