Open Call: Join the Euromed University Initiative for Climate Action
Universities across the Euro-Mediterranean region are invited to join the Euromed University Initiative for Climate Action, a new collective effort coordinated by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union. This initiative calls on higher education institutions to endorse a shared Manifesto for Climate Action, reaffirming the essential role of academia in responding to the climate emergency.
As the Mediterranean warms 20% faster than the global average, universities are urged to collaborate in advancing climate education, embedding sustainability in curricula, empowering students as climate leaders, and fostering innovation through green campuses and living labs. By joining, institutions will strengthen regional cooperation, increase global visibility for local actions, and contribute to a just, resilient, and sustainable future.
