Colleges and Institutes Canada (CiCan)
About
Founded in 1972, the association serves as the national and international voice of Canada’s largest post-secondary education network.
Colleges and Institutes Canada (CiCan) is a leading organization dedicated to driving positive change for the people and the planet.
As the collective voice of colleges and institutes, CICan fosters collaboration among its members and partners to ensure that their actions contribute to meaningful progress. The organization's programs, both domestically and internationally, are aligned with at least one of the 17 SDGs, providing a framework for impactful initiatives.
CICan advocates for accessible training opportunities that equip individuals with the skills necessary to thrive in the labor market and actively contribute to the innovation ecosystem. By working closely with governments, industry, and communities, CICan ensures that all Canadians have access to quality education and training.
CICan is deeply committed to key areas, including equity, diversity, and inclusion; sustainable development; access to quality education; decent work for all; and climate action. They lead by example, valuing diversity within their own team and governance structures. CICan also recognizes the pivotal role of education in supporting reconciliation with Indigenous peoples and unlocking the full potential of their network across Canada.
In the spirit of acknowledgment and respect, CICan acknowledges that its offices in Ottawa are situated on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe Nation.
