IAU member, Antonio Nariño University (UAN) in Colombia, has been an active participant of the competition. Angy Fernanda Farfán Ramírez, a Biotechnology student from Antonio Nariño University (UAN) collaborated with peers from Peru to secure second place in this competition. Angy and her team focused on mitigating the adverse effects of mining on river ecosystems in Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. Their proposal not only addressed environmental concerns but also aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger, emphasizing the interconnection between environmental health and food security.
