UCD Sustainability Plan to 2030
UCD’s Breaking Boundaries Strategy to 2030 outlines UCD’s ambition to be a thought and action leader of transformational change for sustainability and makes a series of commitments to that end, including a transition to net zero by 2040. The UCD Sustainability Plan to 2030 translates those commitments into a mission, a vision and a series of objectives, enablers and actions.
Our plan explains how UCD will maximise its contribution to achieving sustainability at local, national and global levels through its education, research and innovation, its campus infrastructure and operations, its people and alumni and its partnerships and wider engagement.
Our objectives focus on research, innovation and impact for the SDGs, action for climate change and biodiversity, fostering climate resilience, empowering staff and students, using the campus as a living lab and embedding sustainability in the governance and policy of the university.
Our participatory approach embraces involvement by professional staff, students, alumni and external partners and by academics from all disciplines. Please read the plan to review the range of actions being undertaken and explore this website to consider how you can get involved in driving sustainability.
