Electrical and Electronic Waste & Social Responsibility Project

The aim of the project is to professionalize collectors' cooperatives in the cities of São Paulo, Brasilia and Salvador to collect, process and give appropriate treatment to electronic waste.

Held by the GEA - Ethics and Environment Institute, in partnership with LASSU - Sustainability Laboratory of the University of São Paulo, the project will provide a complete technical training to students, combined with the provision of basic equipment for electronic waste processing to insure the safety of waste pickers and the environment - as they contain toxic elements such as lead, mercury and cadmium.
