Online Consultation: Safety as an essential element of the right to education and a precondition for its full realization
The Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education, Ms. Farida Shaheed, is organizing an online consultation with students and youth representatives to contribute to her upcoming report to the 59th session of the Human Rights Council in June 2025. This consultation will focus on safety as an essential element of the right to education, emphasizing its role as a precondition for quality, equality, and access in education.
The session will explore physical, psycho-emotional, and digital safety within education systems worldwide, highlighting existing challenges and solutions to ensure safe, non-violent, inclusive, and sustainable learning environments.
