University of Raparin Holds Symposium on Cyberviolence and Its Dangers

In the framework of the activities of the 16-day campaign about violence against women and families, the University of Raparin co-organized a symposium with the SEED Organization, entitled ‘Cyberviolence and the Prevention of Its Dangers’, on Dec 6th, 2023.
At the beginning of the symposium, the speech of the President of Raparin University was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Paiman R. Ahmad, the President of the University of Raparin. Then Mr. Hiwa Qarani, the Head of the Raparin Administration gave a speech.

Later, in a panel by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sangar Ali, Lect. Arazw Mahmoud, and Mr. Luqman Abdulla, a wide range of information, data and statistics about the online violence, its risks and its preventive measures, were given to the university students.

The meeting ended with questions and answers from the audience.
It is worth mentioning that the 16-day campaign on violence against women and families is a global campaign, starting annually on 25th of November. In the Kurdistan Region, great attention is paid to this campaign, in a way that seminars and awareness activities are held by women's organizations in order to inform individuals and communities about the issue.
