Denim Waste Management and Upcycling Training
Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s Denim Waste Management and Upcycling Training was a sustainability-focused teaching and learning activity held in Istanbul, Türkiye in November 2024. The training introduced textile and fashion design students to circular economy principles, sustainable denim production, waste reduction, and creative upcycling practices. Through theoretical sessions and applied design work, students explored how discarded denim materials could be transformed into new products with environmental and aesthetic value. The activity supported sustainability education by connecting fashion design with responsible production, climate awareness, and practical skills for reducing textile waste.
