UAG Strengthens Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability through Mindset Program

In April 2025, the Autonomous University of Guadalajara (UAG) hosted “Blooming Innovation”, a series of practical workshops for participants of the Mindset program, designed to foster a deeper culture of innovation and environmental responsibility within the university community. Over three sessions held at the UAG Greenhouse, participants engaged in hands-on activities that emphasized sustainability:

  • Pottery Workshop: Explored traditional techniques and the value of manual craftsmanship using natural materials.

  • Painting Session: Encouraged creative expression of ideas related to innovation and environmental awareness.

  • Planting & Reflection: Participants planted a symbolic plant and joined a dialogue on how small, conscious actions can make a big difference in combating climate change.

Led by Katherin Aureoles, the sessions emphasized that every action counts in reducing environmental impact. Key topics included everyday sustainable practices (e.g., composting, recycling), climate change consequences and the need for urgent action, and innovative solutions like hydroponics and circular economy principles. The event reinforced UAG’s long-term goal to significantly reduce its carbon footprint by 2026 and rise in the Green Metric global sustainability rankings, aiming to be among the top 100 sustainable universities worldwide.
