About 

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT), founded in 1972, is a regional non-profit institution of the League of Arab States with a mission to develop human potential and foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and research. Hosting over 27,000 students and nearly 2,700 staff, it offers diverse programs through faculties such as Maritime Transport & Technology, Engineering, Management, Computing, Pharmacy, Law, and Logistics. Research strengths include maritime engineering, logistics, information technology, and environmental sciences. With modern campuses, advanced labs and simulators, and strong global partnerships, AASTMT is a leader in education and applied research across the Arab region.

"Achieving sustainable development in society through providing outstanding graduates
capable of bringing about change and who are prepared through educational and training

excellence and efficiency in scientific research, training, and consultations, through the
application of the highest quality standards and governance."

Sustainability at AASTMT

The AASTMT demonstrates a deep and evolving commitment to sustainability, embedding it strategically across research, teaching and learning, campus operations, and community outreach. Sustainability appears as a guiding value in its strategic plan, encourages curricula that equip students with sustainability literacy, promotes interdisciplinary research in environmental monitoring and climate resilience, and fosters a campus culture of energy efficiency, waste reduction, and green procurement. Through public engagement—such as sustainable education workshops in local schools—and alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the university aims to be a catalyst for positive change in society.
