Originally under the name of the Botswana College of Agriculture, the Government of Botswana approved the transformation of the institution to become the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) under Presidential Directive CAB 21 (B)/2013. An inauguration was held on 12 November 2013, and the process was official as of 1 February 2016.
The mission of BUAN is to produce innovative graduates and technological solutions, produce sustainable development in the agriculture and natural resources sectors, and inspire sustainable growth.
