PLEA 2026 – Sustainable Architecture Conference

From 27 July to 1 August 2026, the University of Costa Rica will host PLEA 2026: Passive and Low Energy Architecture, one of the world’s leading conferences on sustainable architecture. Held for the first time in Central America, the event will bring together architects, urban planners, researchers, scientists and institutional leaders from more than 40 countries to discuss climate-responsive design, bioclimatic architecture, energy efficiency and resilient cities. Under the theme “Architecture of Common Sense: Harnessing Local Wisdom for Sustainable Futures,” the conference highlights local knowledge, interdisciplinary innovation and sustainable built environments.
