The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a non-profit organization that has been working for more than a century to advance gender equity and promote opportunities for women and girls. Founded in 1881, AAUW is one of the oldest and largest women's organizations in the United States.

AAUW focuses on a wide range of issues, including education, economic security, and advocacy. The organization advocates for policies and legislation that promote equity and non-discrimination. The mission of AAUW is to empower women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. 

AAUW offers various programs and initiatives that aim to empower women and girls. These include scholarships and grants to support education, fellowships for women pursuing advanced degrees, leadership development programs, and community outreach initiatives.
