About
University Cote d'Azur was created in January 2020 as an experimental university. It has been awarded the prestigious Initiative d'Excellence (Idex) label in 2016. This distinction, awarded by an international jury, positions the university among the 10 best French research-intensive universities, provides it with additional resources to further accelerate its development, and marks the recognition of a university globally.
Structured around innovative internal components with increased responsibilities for greater agility, the University Cote d'Azur backs all its training and innovation missions with the excellence of its research. Its strong roots in the Cote d'Azur region make it one of the driving forces behind its growth model.
University Cote d'Azur is a founding member of the European Ulysseus alliance, and home to one of France's four Interdisciplinary Institutes for Artificial Intelligence (3IA).
Its UCAJEDI project proposes a strategy targeting the three major challenges of this century, resilience & sustainability of local authorities, economic & social transformation through Digital and well-being, through tools and programs promoting the development of research, training, and innovation.

As a member of the U7+ Alliance since COP 26 in Glasgow, Université Côted'Azur is keen to implement further actions in line with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- Structure Université Côte d'Azur's sustainable development policy by creating a dedicated department.
- Modernize our campuses by focusing on energy-efficient building renovation, notably through the France Relance program.
- Commit to the signature and implementation of the Grenoble Accord, including the creation of the COPIL Plan Vert (Green Plan Committee) to ensure environmentally-friendly campus management.
- Create a sustainable mobility network on most campuses, consistent with the actions of local authorities.
- Develop Sustainable Development and Commitment missions and promote them through the eco-responsible campus mission.
