International ESD/SDGs Center

At the Second Earth Summit held in Johannesburg in 2002, Japan proposed an ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) plan, recognizing that education is necessary for sustainable development. . Chubu University, along with Nagoya University and others, was certified by the United Nations as a Chubu ESD center in October 2007 and began its activities.

The name was changed to the International ESD/SDGs Center in April 2019, in line with the end of the United Nations Decade of ESD and the start of SDGs. Chubu University will promote planning, planning, and support for ESD/SDGs projects, as well as surveys and research on ESD/SDGs projects both domestically and internationally.
