The OptFor-EU project -  Mikolas Romeris University

The OptFor-EU project, funded by the European Union HORIZON-RIA program, aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) for forest managers and stakeholders to optimize decarbonization and other Forest Ecosystem Services (FES) in Europe. The project will provide an updated inventory of the Forest-Climate Nexus (FCN) and FES, empower end-users to make informed decisions, and bridge the gap between EU priorities, science, and stakeholders in the forest sector. The DSS will be developed and tested in eight case study areas with the goal of making it ready for use at the European level. A roadmap for system transfer will also be developed to maximize societal and business impact.
