The Digital Education for Sustainable Development (Digital ESD) across Europe project offers an innovative, interactive learning platform designed to help primary school teachers integrate sustainability into their daily teaching. Aimed primarily at students aged 9–11, the platform features 19 immersive “Learning Worlds” linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These include animated boardstories, interactive digital activities, teacher guidance materials, and student workbooks that make complex sustainability concepts engaging and accessible.

A central contributor to the project is Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN University), whose expertise has been instrumental in developing pedagogically sound digital content and ensuring that the platform supports high-quality sustainability education across diverse European school contexts. Their involvement strengthens the project’s academic foundation and enhances its impact on teacher training and classroom practice.

In addition to the digital resources, the platform offers regular online professional development sessions, providing educators with practical tools, classroom strategies, and support for implementing ESD effectively. Altogether, the project aims to empower teachers while inspiring the next generation to think critically, act responsibly, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
