Dublin City University (DCU) is a young, dynamic and ambitious university with a distinctive mission to transform lives and societies through education, research and innovation. Since admitting its first students in 1989, DCU has grown to a student  body of over 19,000 from over 100 different countries across five campuses.

The University has earned a reputation as Ireland’s university of enterprise, through its strong, active links with academic, research, and industry partners both at home and overseas.  It develops highly sought-after, well-rounded graduates who are ready for the workforce and eager to apply their knowledge and skills in a broad range of settings.

Sustainability at DCU

We embed sustainability at the core of our university, in its teaching and learning, research, development and innovation, its operations and promoting it through its national and international engagements. The climate and biodiversity crisis is real and immediate, and we need fundamental systemic change to address it. We must act urgently to safeguard a sustainable future for humanity and all life on our planet. There are many ways we can play our part, both as individuals and particularly as an institution.

Explore the DCU Sustainability Centre website to discover more about DCU’s concerted work to meet the carbon neutral challenge, learn how you can join in to combat climate change and biodiversity loss and find all of our useful resources.
