University of Ghana Launches Gender Policy
The University of Ghana has launched its Gender Policy in January, 2022, aiming to create a gender equitable environment and mainstream gender in all university policies and procedures. The policy highlights key areas such as implementation, complaints mechanisms, monitoring, and grievance procedures. The launch was attended by dignitaries, and the Chancellor highlighted the institution's commitment to gender equality and increasing female participation in various fields. The Gender Policy was developed through a collaborative process, involving committees and affiliates. The Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy (CEGENSA) has played a significant role in promoting gender-related initiatives and fostered the development of policies framing gender equality.
