The U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development
The US Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development convenes and catalyzes leaders and champions in different sectors of society to support education and actions for sustainable development at a systems change level. The higher education sector of the partnership founded and facilitates two networks composed of over sixty national and international higher education associations. For a list of associations and resources, see the Disciplinary Associations Network for Sustainability and the Higher Education Associations Sustainability Consortium.
Internationally, the US Partnership focuses on education and workforce development for the transition to a sustainable future. This includes co-organizing with UNEP-YEA a Green Jobs Initiative and co-authorship of the accompanying Global Guidance for Education on Green Jobs: Connecting Higher Education and Green Opportunities for Planetary Health. This initiative focuses on improving curricula, career guidance, recruitment and research.
The US Partnership also coordinates two workgroups for the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative, the Education for Green Jobs workgroup and the SDG Publishers Compact Fellows workgroup. The Fellows are working on multiple initiatives to align research and educational materials with the SDGs. This includes Solutions Summits convenings for publishers, textbook editors, and journal editors.
