13th Annual Art of Giving Celebration

17 May marks the annual celebration of 'Art of Giving', an initiative developed on this day in 2013 by the founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT, India), Dr. Achyuta Samanta. Founded in 2013, the Art of Giving movement promotes compassion, peace, friendship, and social harmony through the philosophy of selfless giving. This year, the celebrations were on the theme “Share to Shine'', signifying that sharing happiness with others also leads to one’s own growth and progress.

The celebrations brought together millions of participants across 190 countries through acts of kindness, community engagement, and social support initiatives. Coordinated by the KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), the initiative was marked through community activities, awareness campaigns, and volunteer actions worldwide. The movement aims to encourage individuals to contribute to society in meaningful ways, regardless of scale, while fostering global solidarity and human connection. This initiative aligns closely with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
