Call for input: Human Development Report 2027
#CallForInput: The ISC and the Human Development Report Office - United Nations Development Programme invite researchers and experts to contribute their views on the themes that the Human Development Reports (HDR) should take up from 2027 onwards. Deadline 20 November 2026.
Since 1990, the UNDP has published a global HDR almost every year. The reports are based on the premise that a country’s progress should be judged by what its people are actually able to do and be: to live long and healthy lives, to learn, to earn a decent living, to feel secure and to have a say in decisions that affect them. Economic growth matters, but as a means, not as the goal.
To ascertain the theme of 2027’s report, ISC and the HDR office would like your views on the following:
-Which changes will most affect people’s lives, choices and wellbeing over the next 10 to 20 years, and which of them are overlooked?
-What broad theme the 2027 Report should take up, and why?
-Where today’s responses to big challenges could create new problems, and where the untapped opportunities lie?
-Whose knowledge, which region/s and what evidence is missing?
