Green-Edu-Seeds is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project focuses on fostering green skills, sustainability education, and university–industry collaboration in Vietnam and Thailand. Coordinated by the University of Graz, the project brings together a consortium of universities, technology companies, and training organisations from Europe and Southeast Asia. Key academic partners include Nürtingen-Geislingen University, University of Teramo, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, Siam University, and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University, alongside industry partners supporting innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
The project aims to equip students, educators, and professionals with green business, sustainability, and digital innovation skills through new curricula, training programmes, and applied learning initiatives focused on sectors such as agri-food and sustainable tourism. Through the “I AM GREEN Network,” the initiative strengthens collaboration between academia and industry, supports green entrepreneurship, and promotes sustainable economic development.
Its structure is built around several interconnected components:
- Curriculum and Training Development: Partners are jointly creating 25 academic modules and 20 non-academic training modules focused on green skills, sustainable business practices, entrepreneurship, and sector-specific applications such as agri-food and sustainable tourism.
- University–Industry Collaboration: Industry partners contribute to curriculum design, applied learning, mentorship, and innovation activities to strengthen employability and practical experience.
- Digital and Practice-Based Learning: The project integrates innovative teaching methods, including digital learning tools, experiential education, and train-the-trainer programmes for educators and professionals.
- The “I AM GREEN Network”: A transnational platform connecting universities, incubators, accelerators, and businesses across Europe and Southeast Asia to support green entrepreneurship, start-up development, and knowledge exchange.
- International Consortium Meetings and Capacity Building: Regular consortium meetings, workshops, and management board sessions are held across partner institutions to monitor progress, coordinate activities, and share expertise.
Through this structure, the project aims to train over 3,000 students and 1,500 professionals while embedding sustainability and innovation into higher education systems and regional green economies.
Aligned with the EU Green Deal and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Green-Edu-Seeds contributes particularly to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), helping prepare future generations for a resilient and sustainability-driven economy.
