Lagos State University to Host 3rd International Conference on Renewable Energy
The Lagos State University Centre for the Actualisation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (LASU-SDGs), in partnership with the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) Abuja, is pleased to announce the 3rd International SDGs Conference on "Renewable Energy Research and Applications", scheduled to take place from 26–27 August 2025.
This conference invites researchers, engineers, manufacturers, and stakeholders from both public and private sectors to present innovative work on renewable energy technologies and policies. The event seeks to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration in support of SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, with a broader focus on climate action and sustainable development.
Background
Achieving net-zero emissions and mitigating climate change require urgent shifts from fossil fuels to low-carbon energy sources. While many African nations are rich in energy resources, access remains limited for large segments of the population—particularly in rural areas—impacting socio-economic development. This conference aims to accelerate research, application, and collaboration in renewable energy to help bridge these gaps and support a sustainable future.

Format and Languages
The conference will feature both in-person and virtual participation (virtual sessions limited to one day). Presentations will be conducted in English, French, and Portuguese.
Publication
Selected papers may be published in Sustineri: A Journal of Sustainability, a multilingual academic journal by LASU-SDGs.
