Memorandum of Understanding between the Municipality of Padua and the University of Padua

As part of the "Climate-neutral and Smart Cities Mission", the European Commission selected 100 pioneer cities that will commit to achieving climate neutrality by 2030. Along with nine other Italian cities, Padua was selected. The initiative is funded by Horizon Europe with 360 million euros for the period 2022-2023.

The Municipality of Padua is engaged in developing the Climate City contract, which includes a master plan in climate neutrality in all sectors. The University of Padua, as a key partner with the Municipality over the years, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to help the achieve the objectives of the Net Zero Cities Mission.

  • Identify and launch initiatives for technical-scientific collaboration, information sharing, and co-planning on topics of interest to both parties with the aim of supporting the city of Padua's transition to climate neutrality
