Reinvent urban spaces - Design and submit a project!

C40 and the mayors of twelve world-leading cities are thrilled to announce that the third edition of Reinventing Cities has officially launched!

We are excited to invite multidisciplinary teams – including architects, urban planners, designers, developers, entrepreneurs, environmentalists, start-ups and neighborhood groups – to design and develop climate-friendly urban projects that will serve the needs of local communities and become sustainable city landmarks.

Reinventing Cities is a C40 Cities initiative that addresses the urgent need for change in the way that cities are designed and built in response to the climate emergency.

Sites in Bologna, Bristol, Houston, Izmir, Lyon, Milan, Montréal, Naples, Phoenix, Rome, San Francisco and São Paulo are featured in this year’s contest.

Expressions of interest will be accepted until various dates throughout September 2022; the deadlines vary by city – consult these site pages for details.
