SDG Week 2026 at the International University of Sarajevo

IUS SDG Week 2026 was held from 18 to 22 May 2026 at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS), bringing together students, academic and administrative staff, experts, and members of the wider community to promote sustainable development and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Organized by the IUS SDG Committee with the support of the University management, the event reflected IUS's ongoing commitment to integrating sustainability into teaching, research, institutional development, and community engagement.

The five-day programme featured a variety of activities, including lectures, workshops, exhibitions, competitions, and community-oriented initiatives designed to raise awareness and encourage active participation in sustainability-related issues. The event opened with a ceremony showcasing the finalists of the IUS Green Campus Competition 2026 and the student photo contest "Concrete Jungle."

Throughout the week, participants attended expert lectures and interactive workshops on topics such as sustainability, climate change, urban development, peacebuilding, and the role of artificial intelligence in research and sustainable development. Community engagement activities included a poster session on sustainability in computing and a clean-up campaign organized in cooperation with local primary schools.

By fostering collaboration among students, academics, external stakeholders, and community representatives, IUS SDG Week 2026 served as a platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and collective action. The event strengthened awareness of the SDGs and reinforced IUS's role in advancing sustainable development through education, research, partnerships, and civic engagement.
