UNESCO & ULiège Learning Cities Project

UNESCO and the University of Liège are strengthening their collaboration to explore how education can underpin a renewed social contract in response to growing social, digital, and environmental challenges. 

Through a series of joint initiatives, including an international symposium and partnerships with the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, the collaboration highlights the role of lifelong learning, higher education, and local engagement in fostering inclusion, democratic participation, and social cohesion. Bringing together international academics, policymakers, and practitioners, the initiative encourages dialogue on innovative education governance, equitable access to learning, and the shared responsibility of education systems in building more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable societies.
