UNU Conversation Series – India and the World: Democracy, Development and Justice

On Monday, 23 June 2025, the United Nations University (UNU) and the Singhvi Centre for Constitutional, Parliamentary and Legal Studies will co-host a special edition of the UNU Conversation Series: “India and the World: Democracy, Development and Justice.”

This timely dialogue will feature Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India, alongside Professor C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice-Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University (an IAU member). The conversation will be moderated by UNU Rector Tshilidzi Marwala.

As the world’s largest democracy, India’s experience offers valuable perspectives on the intersection of democratic governance, inclusive development, and human rights. With global institutions under pressure, this event explores how democracies can remain resilient and responsive amid rapid social and economic change, and the vital role universities play in that process.
