World Engineering Day Hackathon Competiton 2025
World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WED) is an official International Day proclaimed by UNESCO in 2019 and celebrated on 4 March. This year, the World Federation of Engineering Organization (WFEO) and UNESCO are partnering for the WED Hackathon. The theme for this edition is SDG 1: No Poverty. Participants will select one of three challenges based on real-world scenarios and work in teams to create a short video outlining their solution. The competition is aimed at engineering students, but individuals from all disciplines and even secondary school students are invited to join.
There will be four cash prizes for this competition. Registrations opened on 5 October and the challenges were released 12 November. Submissions will be due on 26 November, with the winners announced on 4 March 2025.
