Apply now to the 2027 L’Oréal–UNESCO for Women in Science Prize and Programme

For more than two decades,  the L’Oréal–UNESCO Prize For Women in Science (also known as the L’Oréal–UNESCO International Awards), have awarded and recognised five women scientist for their work. The prize awards scientists within the fields of Life Sciences (even years) and Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science (odd years). Selected by an expert jury, each laurate is awarded a monetary prize to support their research (€100,000). 

The L’Oréal–UNESCO Prize For Women in Science has recognized 142 laureates to date, and are now open for applications to the 2027 edition of the prize.

Being an odd year, the 2027 edition welcomes nominations for outstanding women researchers in Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Computer Science, each working in one of the following regions: Africa and the Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America.

Submit nominations before: 30 June 2026
Final selection: December 2026
