ASEF 7th Higher Education Innovation Laboratory

Between 1 February and 3 November, 2026, the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) invites higher education stakeholders and seniors to its 7th Higher Education Innovation Laboratory (ASEFInnoLab). 

Since its inception in 2021, ASEF has organised six editions of the InnoLab. Through this initiative, around 550 representatvies from higher education institutions across Asia and Europe have gotten the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas, adress common global challenges, and collaborate to advance higher eucation transformation. The InnoLab has facilitated exhange of good practices and the formulation of tech-centered, inclusive, and sustainable policy. 

Taking AI's role as a potential enabler for accelerating progress toward the SDGs, it is vital to discuss possible gaps in harnessing this potential. ASEF particularly questions how ''developing and low-income countries harness AI in a manner that is anchored in their own values, priorities, and local contexts?'' and raises concerns regarding inequalities, access, and bias. The 7th InnoLab aims to target these concerns by bringing together experts, changemakers, and stakeholders to explore the role of higher education in advancing AI with humanity as its priority.
