IAU Member UOC Secures Funding for Research on Gender Equity in Digital Health
The Open University of Catalonia (UOC), an IAU Member, was selected for funding through the Women and Science Chair at Paris Dauphine-PSL University for its research project, Mind the Gap: A European Framework for Gender Equity in the Digital Health Era, led by Marta Aymerich.
With a European scope, Mind the Gap seeks to address persistent gender biases in digital health and e-health systems. Through a Delphi study bringing together experts from across Europe, the project aims to develop a consensus-based framework to identify key challenges and opportunities for advancing gender equity in digital healthcare. The research will examine issues such as diagnostic inequalities, the underrepresentation of sex and gender perspectives in medicine, and bias in digital and AI-driven health technologies, helping to inform more inclusive and equitable healthcare solutions.
