International Conference on SDGs: Prospects and Challenges for India
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), in collaboration with IIT Jammu and the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) of the Institute for New Economic Thinking, New York, organized a two-day International Conference on “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals: Prospects and Challenges for India (SUSTIND)” on 21–22 March 2025. The event brought together academics, policymakers, and young scholars from across India to discuss multidisciplinary approaches to achieving the SDGs.
Keynote speaker Padma Bhushan Prof. B. N. Suresh emphasized the role of space data in tracking SDG progress, while other sessions explored technological, economic, and regional strategies for sustainable growth, particularly in Jammu & Kashmir. Supported by NABARD and government partners, the conference fostered dialogue on integrating research, policy, and innovation to advance India’s sustainable development agenda.
