Report released: Gender equality, how global universities are performing (part 1)
UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC) and Times Higher Education have jointly published the first part of the report: "Gender Equality: How Global Universities are performing".
The report acknowledge the positive role of universities in promoting gender equality. Recalling that gender equality has come a long way since International Women’s Day was founded 111 years ago, but there is still far to go. Universities have a unique position in society that makes them critical actors for change in this area.
In this context, the report examines how well higher education institutions across the globe are performing when it comes to making progress towards gender equality. The report presents worldwide and country-level analysis on 18 different indicators and detailed case studies from five universities that are leading on this work in their regions.
