The Social Innovation Lab at UM6P

Established in 2019, the Social Innovation Lab (SIL) of the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) is engaged in socio-economic transformation from the local to continental level. Target areas of the SIL include gender equality, digital inclusion, cultural and artisanal patrimony, and sustainable agricultural economy. Its efforts span the twelve regions of Morocco, reaching over 4,200 beneficiaries, of which:

  • 53% are NEETs (not in education, employment, or training).
  • 64% are from a rural population.
  • 48% are women. SIL promotes women's entreneurship actively through programs like Al Montija, the Women Empowerment Center, and Femmpact.
