University of Bologna Launches Gender Equality Plan 2025–2027

The Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna has introduced its Gender Equality Plan (GEP) for 2025–2027, reaffirming its commitment to reducing gender inequalities and fostering a diverse, inclusive academic community. The plan outlines targeted actions that address not only gender but also age, culture, ability, sexual orientation, and multilingualism.

As a higher education institution, the University emphasizes its responsibility to offer future generations a path free from prejudice and stereotypes—one that embraces individuality and promotes freedom of expression.

The GEP serves as a guiding tool for cultural transformation, aiming to create a learning and working environment where all individuals are treated equally and with respect. By continuing existing policies and introducing new strategies, the plan works to remove barriers to equality and reinforce a sense of belonging, trust, and shared purpose across the institution.
