About the Maldives National University (MNU) 

Established in 1973, the Maldives National University (MNU) is the country’s leading public university, dedicated to creating, discovering, preserving, and disseminating knowledge that supports national cultural, social, and economic development. Guided by a vision to be the nation’s outstanding academic institution and a leading university in the region, MNU serves approximately 3,180 students with 550 staff. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs in areas including arts, business, education, engineering, science and technology, health sciences, hospitality and tourism, law, medicine, nursing, maritime studies, fisheries and ocean sciences, and security studies. Its research strengths include climate and environmental resilience, marine and fisheries sciences, health, education, innovation, and sustainable development.
