The University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST) is the major vocational university in Iran focusing on entrepreneurship. As a demand-oriented, dynamic, flexible, and up-to-date university, the UAST has defined as its mission the provision of scientific and technical infrastructure to move towards a knowledge-based economy, contributing to the creation of national and international businesses as well as sustainable development through offering vocational education and training.
One of the most significant activities of the UAST expressed in its vision is enhancing the quality of educational activities and market-oriented research based on the experiences and achievements of international vocational education and training. In this light, the UAST has worked hard to move further towards enriching vocational education through expanding international collaborations, especially with other world class universities and institutes of higher education. Therefore, in the University’s new vision special attention is paid to international student recruitment, student and academic staff exchange, establishing international centers of vocational education in Iran and selected foreign countries, conducting joint educational and research programs, workshops, and conferences, and membership in prestigious international organizations related to higher education to improve the UAST’s international standing.
We hope that, through international and scientific cooperation, together we can take positive steps towards enhancing the quality of vocational education and training at national and international levels to train and educate skilled and efficient students.
