The University of Central Asia (UCA) connects rural communities with the global community, and builds human capital needed for modern economies and stable governance.
UCA has two campuses: one in Naryn, Krygyzstan, another in Khorog Tajikistan, and one planned for Kazakhstan. All three are located away from major urban centres to respond to the needs of rural mountain communities. It was founded in 2000 through an International Treaty signed by the three Presidents of each country as well as the Aga Khan.
Sustainability at UCA
UCA is a part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), which focuses on health, education, culture, rural development, institution-building, and the promotion of economic development. It is dedicated to improving the living conditions and opportunities of the poor, regardless of their faith, origin, or gender.
