The City University of Mogadishu (CU) was established in 2012 and has three campuses in the Hodon, Bondhere, and Abdiaziz districts. Coursework at CU is delivered in English, except for the degree in Jurisprudence, which is offered in Arabic.
CU has five institutes: the Foundations & Languages Institute, Demos Africa Analytics, Marine & Fisheries Institute, Hasene Marine Technical High School, and the Center for Conflict, Governance, & Peacebuilding.
Sustainability at CU
All students at CU must perform some community service during their study, and students on scholarship must do community service monthly to maintain their scholarship. Some typical community service programs include neighborhood and beach cleanups; food banks; clothing drives; academic aid at primary and secondary schools; and providing consultations to local businesses.
