Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is a public research university founded in 1970 as Cariboo College, and aqcuired its present status and title in 2004. As part of its mission and values TRU is committed to student success through flexible, inclusive, and accessible education. The university is dedicated to student success through flexible, inclusive, and career-oriented education. It serves more than 18,000 students across its campuses and through its extensive Open Learning division, offering a more than 140 on-campus and 60+ online programs across faculties including Arts, Science, Business and Economics, Law, Education and Social Work, Nursing, Trades and Technology, and Tourism. Across 8 faculties and 39 departments, TRU houses close to 950 full-time staff.
