Since the foundation of our University attitude towards the environment has always been an important part of our leading edge science and education, which is reflected in the University's mission statement. More than 60 professors and their scientific employees work on environmental questions within departments, interdisciplinary research centres and institutes. The number of environmental research projects and environmental study programmes has been increased continuously over the years. Moreover, the Graduate Center for Environmental Sciences (gradC) and the Competence Centre for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation (CliMA) have been successfully established.
