Synergies Between Biodiversity and Climate Policy Frameworks – A Series of Thematic Papers

Climate change and biodiversity loss are often addressed separately, yet the two challenges are deeply interconnected. Synergies Between Biodiversity and Climate Policy Frameworks – A Series of Thematic Papers brings these links into focus through a collection of ten thematic papers developed by Deutsche Gesellschaft fΓΌr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in cooperation with the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ).

πŸ“Œ The series explores:

  • Nature-based solutions

  • Governance and policy integration

  • Climate and biodiversity finance

  • Monitoring and reporting frameworks

  • The role of Indigenous Peoples and local communities

  • Gender-responsive approaches

  • Capacity building and implementation support

Drawing on international agreements, scientific evidence, and practical experience, the publications aim to support policymakers, negotiators, and practitioners in developing approaches that advance biodiversity conservation, climate mitigation, and adaptation goals simultaneously.
