Post-2030 Initiative: Science for the Next Global Sustainable Development Agenda
The Post-2030 Initiative: Science for the Next Global Sustainable Development Agenda is a project led by Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) in partnership with Monash University. Running from 2024 to 2030, the initiative brings together experts on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from around the world to provide scientific input for discussions on the global development framework that will succeed the UN 2030 Agenda.
Key activities include:
🤝 Convening international workshops with researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders
📊 Assessing lessons learned from SDG implementation to date
🔍 Examining global trends likely to influence sustainable development beyond 2030
📝 Producing research and policy-oriented publications to inform future negotiations and decision-making processes
The initiative seeks to strengthen collaboration across regions and research communities, ensuring that future sustainable development frameworks are informed by the latest scientific evidence and practical experience. As preparations begin for UN negotiations on a post-2030 agenda, the project aims to support more effective and impactful approaches to global sustainability governance.
