Center for Research Lankester Garden

The Lankester Botanical Garden was founded in 1940 and donated to the University of Costa Rica in 1973. Today, the Lankester Botanical Garden stands as a thriving and influential botanical institution, actively contributing to the scientific understanding of the Mesoamerican region.

Mission and Vision 

The mission of the Lankester Botanical Garden is to promote the conservation, enjoyment and sustainable use of the native flora of Costa Rica threatened with extinction, especially epiphytes, through scientific research, horticulture and environmental education programs

The Lankester Botanical Garden is a leading botanical institution in the study and conservation of epiphytic plants in the Mesoamerican region.
