Closing Speech at the COP30 Simulation Mock Conference

In her closing remarks at the COP30 Simulation Mock Conference, Chitose Noguchi, UNDP Egypt Resident Representative, commended the participants for their commitment, creativity, and leadership throughout the event. Co-organized by UNDP Egypt and The British University in Egypt (BUE) for the fourth consecutive year, the simulation brought together young delegates who demonstrated strong negotiation, diplomacy, and teamwork skills in tackling climate issues.
Noguchi highlighted that the simulation goes beyond an academic exercise - it represents a training ground for future climate leaders, reflecting the real dynamics of international climate negotiations. She praised the collaboration between UNDP, BUE, and partner universities including Zayed University, ADA University, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and Federal University of Pará, for creating a global space for youth-led climate diplomacy.
Emphasizing UNDP’s long-standing commitment to youth empowerment and climate action, Noguchi encouraged participants to carry their momentum forward and apply their skills within their universities, communities, and future professional paths. She closed by affirming that the conference may be ending, but the participants’ journey as climate leaders is just beginning, inspiring continued engagement toward COP30 in Belém and beyond.
