EDUGREENABILITY - Partnerships for Greening Educaton
Universidad del Rosario has strengthened its institutional commitment to sustainability by joining the Erasmus+ EDUGREENABILITY initiative, funded by the European Union. This international project brings together universities from Latin America and Europe to integrate sustainability more effectively into higher education systems.
The main objective of EDUGREENABILITY is to embed “green competencies” into university curricula, develop innovative teaching tools, and design joint academic courses aligned with global sustainability priorities. The project promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, capacity building for faculty, and the exchange of best practices among partner institutions. By strengthening institutional strategies and academic programs, it ensures that sustainability becomes a cross-cutting component of students’ education rather than an isolated topic.
The initiative directly contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by improving sustainability-focused learning; SDG 13 (Climate Action) by fostering environmental awareness and climate competencies; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through international academic cooperation. Overall, the project enhances universities’ ability to educate socially responsible professionals equipped to address global environmental and sustainability challenges.
EDUGREENABILITY is coordinated by the Catholic University of Manizales (Colombia) and has an international consortium made up of the following institutions:
